TronLink is the first and most widely used TRON wallet, officially recommended by the TRON Foundation. It is available as a Chrome browser extension and as mobile apps for iOS and Android. TronLink generates a TRC20 wallet address automatically and supports TRX, all TRC20 tokens (including USDT), TRON DApps, and hardware wallet integration.
Installing TronLink Chrome Extension
Visit the official TronLink website at tronlink.org. Click on the Chrome extension link, which leads to the Chrome Web Store. Add the extension to Chrome. After installation, click the TronLink icon in your browser toolbar. Create a new wallet and carefully record your 12-word seed phrase in writing. Your TRC20 address will be displayed in the TronLink dashboard immediately after wallet creation.
Installing TronLink Mobile (iOS or Android)
Download TronLink from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Verify the developer is "TronLink Pro" before installing. Open the app, choose "Create Wallet," and save your seed phrase securely offline. Your TRC20 address is displayed on the home screen and begins with "T."
Finding Your TRC20 Address in TronLink
In the TronLink Chrome extension: your TRC20 address is shown at the top of the main screen. Click the copy icon to copy it. Tap "Receive" to generate a QR code. On TronLink mobile: tap the "Receive" button on the home screen, your address and QR code are displayed. The address is the same for all TRC20 tokens — you use one address to receive TRX, USDT TRC20, and any other TRON-based token.
TronLink and TRON DApps
TronLink is the primary wallet for interacting with TRON decentralized applications (DApps). When you visit a TRON DApp in Chrome, TronLink injects your wallet credentials to allow seamless interaction — similar to how MetaMask works with Ethereum DApps. Always verify the DApp website address carefully before connecting your wallet, as phishing sites attempt to impersonate legitimate DApps.
TronLink Hardware Wallet Support
TronLink supports Ledger hardware wallets. Connect your Ledger device to your computer, open the TronLink extension, and select "Import Wallet" then "Hardware Wallet." Follow the prompts to link your Ledger. Your TRC20 address will be generated by the Ledger device and displayed in TronLink. All transactions must be physically confirmed on the Ledger device, providing maximum security against remote attacks.
Energy and Bandwidth in TronLink
TRON uses an energy and bandwidth system instead of simple gas fees. When you send TRC20 tokens, the transaction consumes energy (for smart contract execution) and bandwidth (for transaction size). These resources are provided by staking TRX or paid for by burning a small amount of TRX. TronLink displays your current energy and bandwidth balance. If you have insufficient resources, a small TRX fee is deducted automatically. Keeping 10–20 TRX in your wallet is sufficient to cover fees for typical transactions.
